The Ausbil Active Equity Fund was added to Planning Partners recommended list in 2005 following the designation of an A rating by our preferred Research House, Van Eyk.

Ausbil Dexia is a boutique Australian equities manager which offers a benchmark-aware, relatively concentrated, style neutral investment strategy. The objective of the fund is to outperform the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index by 3% p.a. over a rolling 3 year period.

Ausbil have a skilled and well resourced investment team led by an experienced porfolio management committee with a strong track record. The investment process is very coherent and centres on earnings and earnings revisions.

The return for the Fund in the 12 months to 31 August 2009 is negative 5.74%, as compared to the benchmark index for Australian Equities (ASX 200) of negative 10.20%. This outperformance was largely due to exposure to Consumer Discretionary and Financial stocks. It is important to note that the 5 year return of the fund is 11.78% (annualised) against a benchmark of 8.34%.
